đ° Finally Seeing Through the Hype
Iâd been wanting to try this place for so long â but after visiting, I have to say: itâs just okay. I expected a cozy cafĂ© with seating, but the shop is actually pretty small and narrow â barely enough room for two people to pass each other comfortably. Hereâs what I tried: đ§ CanelĂ©s These were a letdown. The bottoms were completely sunken, and though the sides were crispy, they had a noticeable oily taste. đ Earl Grey CanelĂ©s The best of the bunch â but still too moist inside. Maybe a little more baking time wouldâve helped, though that mightâve ruined the crisp shell. đ« Milk Chocolate TigrĂ© Forgettable. All I remember is an overly rich chocolate filling and a basic pound cake texture â nothing special. đą Pistachio Raspberry Financier Extremely oily with no real pistachio flavor â completely overpowered by the raspberry. The crust wasnât crispy at all â tasted more like a mini pound cake. đ« Blueberry Cream Scone The scone itself was fine â tender and moist â but slathered with blueberry cream cheese, it just wasnât worth $5. Felt like something I could easily make at home. đ Overall impression: Theyâre not shy with the oil â but itâs not high-quality butter. You wonât taste that rich, aromatic butter flavor here. đ Brown Bag Cookies 3450 Wilshire Blvd Ste 106, Los Angeles, CA 90010 Sometimes the hype is just⊠hype. #LAEats #DessertReview #NotWorthTheHype #CanelĂ© #SconeLife #HonestFoodDiary
