First Impressions of Oklahoma City 🛬✨
After a thunderous flight diversion and an unexpected landing in Tulsa, I finally made it to OKC! The airport’s strong Indigenous-inspired architecture and color palette immediately caught my eye 🏛️🎨. Due to the long delay from Houston, I didn’t check into my hotel until after midnight. The hotel almost gave away my room since they weren’t sure if I’d show up! 😅 🏨 Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown Hotel (Locals also recommend OMNI and Wyndham Grand!) 📍 Great location—close to downtown attractions and the cheapest option in the area. ⚠️ Pro tip: If you know you’ll check in late, always notify the hotel in advance to avoid issues! ❕ Though I lucked out with a top-floor room, part of the view was blocked by an elevator shaft—thanks, hotel profit motives! 🏙️👀 I crashed immediately and slept through the 1-hour time change 😴… woke up after 12 PM the next day ready to explore! — Convention Center: Modern and impressive 🏢. There was a comic convention inside—cosplayers everywhere! 🦸♂️👾 — Scissortail Park: A kids’ paradise 🛝🎿🧗♂️. Slides, roller skating, climbing walls… but adults must be accompanied by a child to enter. Otherwise, you might have to “borrow” one to get in! 😂 Fun fact: Oklahoma City (OK) is both the capital and shares its name with the state—unlike New York City (NY)! 🤓📍 It’s the only one like that in the U.S. Still confused how to spell or say it? Don’t worry—more OKC charm coming soon! ❤️ #CollegeCheerSquad #StudyInUSA #CityExplorer #JustGo #Texas #Houston #Tulsa
