🔥✨ Food Diary | DC | Winter Charcoal Grill Feast ✨🍖
📍 Maydan This restaurant has been on my list for years—so long that I almost forgot about it! 😅 This time, my boyfriend made the reservation, and when we arrived, I realized it was the one I’d saved ages ago. 😂 Funny story: There was a mix-up with the reservation. He meant to book Maydan but accidentally reserved a place next door that also starts with “M.” I said, “Since we’re here, let’s try walking in.” And guess what? We snagged two seats at the bar! As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by a massive charcoal grill in the center—total foodie vibes! But the place is super dark, like, can’t-see-anything dark. Maybe to highlight the grill? 😅 Since it was our first time and I wasn’t super hungry, we ordered small dishes to share instead of the large meat platters. Turns out, the grilled meats are the real stars here! Starters: Fattoush Salad: Way too salty for me—felt like eating pickled cucumbers and onions. 😅 But my boyfriend liked it. Green Hummus: Loved this! The spinach made it creamy and fresh. Paired with warm, freshly baked bread, it was irresistible. Vegetables: Grilled Halloumi: Surprisingly sweet due to a thick glaze. Not my favorite, but my boyfriend enjoyed it. Eggplant: Solid but not outstanding. Perfectly grilled, with most of the flavor coming from the zatar sauce. Grilled Meats: Chicken: Juicy and flavorful—rare for chicken! Lamb: Absolutely divine. Even when full, I wanted more. 😭 Next time, I’m trying the grilled lamb leg! Conclusion: Skip the fancy stuff and focus on the grilled meats! They’re the real deal. #WinterAndBBQ #DMV #MyLife #WeekendVibes #HiddenGemRestaurants #DC #DCFoodie #EatDrinkExplore #GrillFeast #MiddleEasternCuisine
