Frankfurt Zoo Edition!🎉🎉🎉🎉

Zoo Frankfurt here we go! 🐾 This historic zoo dating back to the 19th century costs only 13€ - totally worth it! Pro tip: Buy tickets online for faster entry! ⚡ This zoo truly excels at animal enrichment! 🎉 No animal shows here, but they do have keeper feeding sessions (highly recommend the nocturnal animals feeding - otherwise you might miss spotting them! Also the seal feeding is adorable. At first I thought it was a performance, but it's actually positive interaction. When the seal missed catching a ball, it just proved they have a natural, unstressed relationship. Feeding times are on their website and posted at exhibits! 🕒) Highlights: • Big baboons sunbathing lazily 🦍☀️ • Otters fast asleep 🦦💤 • Capybaras casually strolling and nibbling branches🎉🎉 • Baby anteaters climbing trees (first time I've seen this behavior!)🎉 Main exhibits: 🐠 Aquarium: Piranhas, tropical fish, rays etc. 🌙 Nocturnal House: Best visited around 2pm during feedings! Saw the amazing aye-aye (that crazy long middle finger! 👆), cute curly-tailed porcupines, naked mole rats, and more! (No flash photography please!)🎉🎉🎉 🦅 Birds: Outdoor waterfowl and raptors (including familiar Chinese species like black moorhens, grey herons, pelicans, red-crowned cranes, flamingos). Don't miss Hedwig the snow owl in a corner! Indoor aviary has stunning parrots and finches.🎉 🦍 Primate House: Chimps, baboons, orangutans (who love interacting with kids through the glass!), gibbons etc. 🐧 Penguins: So many! Each has their name on their wing! Watching them dive and blow bubbles is hypnotic.🎉 Other stars: 🐯🦁🦏🦛🦒 plus various deer, horses, red river hogs. You can get surprisingly close to the tigers! And there's a petting zoo where you can literally face-to-face with goats! 🐐❤️ Cool surprises: • Mole + underground tunnel exhibit • Ant colony display • Bat cave (first time seeing these!)🎉🎉 Time needed: ~4 hours ⏳🎉 Only downside: Information signs are in German only.🎉 Final verdict: One of the most animal-friendly zoos I've visited! The animals all looked relaxed and content. 🥰 #ZooLover #FrankfurtDiaries #GermanyTravel #AnimalEncounters #WorthEveryEuro 🎉🎉
