🌊 Galveston Beach — Underrated Gem!
Galveston’s beach is seriously underrated! Just an hour’s drive from Houston, we arrived around 5 PM — perfect timing for sunset 🌅. Parking was easy to find right along the street (which is pretty rare for a popular beach spot 🥹). You can pay via the "Pay by Phone" app or website, though we just put our hazard lights on and didn’t get ticketed 😉. What’s great is that Galveston isn’t overly commercialized like many tourist beaches. There’s even a Walmart across the street — super convenient if you forget anything (like we did with our flip-flops 😆). With fewer people around (maybe because it’s off-season?), the background was clean and peaceful — so photogenic! 📸 Only downside: it was a bit chilly, but still totally worth it for the views and vibes! On our way back to Houston, we skipped nearby restaurants and headed straight to Captain Tom’s for oysters 🦪 — a must-try! The seafood here, fresh from the Gulf of Mexico, is top-notch. A Mexican shucker opened them right in front of us — felt like an oyster omakase experience 😗. We ordered two dozen (24 oysters!) and honestly? Could’ve had more… They were that good AND affordable! 🆘❤️ 📍 Galveston Beach: 6285 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, TX 77551 📍 Captain Tom’s: 13955 East Fwy, Houston, TX 77015 #BeachVibes #HoustonTravel #GalvestonIsland #SunsetLovers #GulfCoast #SeafoodLover #Oysters #HoustonFoodie #HiddenGems #TexasBeach #TravelGram 🌊📸🌅
