📍 Genki Izakaya – Feels Like Being Back in an Izakaya Back Home! 🏮

Originally planned to go next door to Southeast Impression, but ended up drawn in by the decor and vibe of this place—it really reminded me of those fusion Japanese spots back home! 🎎✨ 🍢 Yakitori: We ordered pork belly, chicken gizzard, and chicken thigh. The grilling was on point—juicy and tender! 🍗🔥 But the sauce was a bit too light—could’ve used more flavor punch. 😅 🍣 Sushi: Tried the A5 Wagyu with Foie Gras—one bite and I was in heaven! 🤤 The rich fat of the beef paired perfectly with the smooth foie gras… though the portion was so small, the deliciousness disappeared way too fast! Also had Salmon Belly—decent, but the fat wasn’t as aromatic as expected. 🐟👀 🍜 Mentaiko Cream Udon: Super creamy and impressive at first bite! 🥛💫 But after a few more bites, it started feeling heavy. My partner said it tasted like “powdered milk” 😂… well, maybe a little! 🍛 Curry Omelette Rice: The rice was fried with pork—so fragrant! 🐖🍚 The curry was rich, and the egg was soft and fluffy. We finished the whole plate! 🍳👍 Atmosphere: Cozy and authentic izakaya vibe—great for hanging out with friends and having a drink or two! 🥂🍻 #YakitoriLover #Skewers #LateNightEats #ImmersiveJapaneseFood #HiddenGemIzakaya #CozySpot #DMVFood #JapaneseCuisine #VibeDining #ComfortFood #DateNight #IzakayaLife #EatLikeLocal #FoodMemory #MustTryDMV
