Georgetown Check-in | DC Chain American Restaurant Clyde’s
Clyde’s has locations in Gallery Place Chinatown and Chevy Chase. 🍤🌞🚶♀️Whenever I’m strolling through Georgetown and feeling hungry, I tend to end up at this place. Most of the good restaurants in Georgetown require a reservation, but this place is great for a walk-in, naturally becoming a resting spot. It’s located on the main street, so no need to trek through hills and valleys with Google Maps, and there’s outdoor seating perfect for basking in the sun on a nice afternoon. Recommendations: ✔️ Corn beef sandwich - The melted cheese and crispy toasted bread are so delicious together. ✔️ Crab tower - A refreshing and tasty dish of crab meat, avocado, and glutinous rice, but it was no longer on the menu during my second visit. The server said it had been discontinued. 🦀Not recommended: As an American restaurant, their burger is surprisingly subpar, not even comparable to fast-food burgers. The bun seems like it was just bulk-purchased from a supermarket, lacking the buttery aroma of a brioche bun and not properly toasted, making it dry. The beef patty has no juice and tastes similar to frozen beef patties from the supermarket. Avoid the crab salad at all costs, it’s a major letdown. I ordered it for some vegetables since the crab tower was unavailable, but it came with a plate full of ice and a small dish of crab meat, accompanied by two unopened bags of crackers. 🍔🚶♂️The fried calamari is very average, tasting like oily, lifeless dough balls. The squid isn’t very fresh and lacks bounce, and there are many fried pickles and bell peppers posing as squid, which are too salty and oily for my liking. #dmv #RestaurantRecommendations #dc #DMVFoodAndFun #dmvExploration #DMVMusic #Georgetown #GeorgetownUniversity #georgetown
