Good Food for Less! LA Japanese Restaurants Under $40 per Person 💲🍣

Just look at the number of Japanese restaurants in LA, and you’ll know how popular Japanese cuisine is in Southern California. I’m a huge Japanese food lover, but I can’t afford expensive sushi every day 🍱💸 Not all Japanese food is crazy expensive — the spots I’m sharing today are not only affordable but also seriously high quality. Here are a few places that are both wallet-friendly and full of heart ❤️👇 🍣 Hama Sushi Located in Little Tokyo, Hama Sushi is an authentic sushi spot — no tempura, noodles, or rice bowls here. They focus on traditional Japanese side dishes, sashimi, sushi combos, and miso soup 🍲 Their cheapest Albacore Sashimi is only $14, and even the luxurious Tuna Toro Sashimi is just $30! You can get a sashimi platter for around $20, and sushi combos with miso soup for $27–30. 🍣 Ichijiku Sushi The menu is packed with different hand rolls, each priced $10 or less 🤯 They offer three lunch sets for $25–30. Their famous "Dinner Sushi Box" is a steal — $5 for two people, including 9 items like edamame, hand rolls, and sushi rolls! 🍣 Sushi Tama Right in Beverly Hills, but the sushi and sashimi prices are surprisingly reasonable! You can try a variety of seafood sushi: salmon roe, scallops, fatty tuna, and creamy uni 🧡 Nigiri ranges from $4–10, sashimi from $12–30. Plus, the cozy vibe is perfect for hanging out with friends 🍶✨ 🍣 Kanpachi Sushi and Sake A historic spot with lots of Japanese regulars. Prices have stayed almost the same since they opened! For $49 (lunch or dinner), you get an omakase-style meal with 14 pieces of chef’s choice nigiri, miso soup, chawanmushi, and ice cream 🍦 They also have lunch specials like sashimi platters and unagi don for $20–24. 🍣 Sugarfish by Sushi Nozawa With multiple locations across LA, they’re known for keeping quality consistent at every branch 🏆 Their $30 Trust Me Lunch includes 8 courses of sushi and sashimi. For dinner, the simplest set also has 8 courses and is only $35! 📍 Save this list for your next affordable yet delicious sushi run 🗺️💨 #EveryStreetHasGoodEats #FoodInspo #ExploreLAwithLAWA #LAEats #JapaneseFood
