Gorgeous Borghese Gallery 🖼️
🏛️I recently came across many posts mentioning Rome's Borghese Gallery, and in a previous post, I mentioned that tickets were hard to come by. However, a few days before departure, I found that the official website released tickets for the museum night and concert (7:30pm - 9:30pm)! Although I arrived at 8:30pm due to difficulty in hailing a taxi, I unexpectedly found that the gallery is not very large. The visit and concert were almost completed in about an hour. There are three unforgettable aspects of our visit, all of which are worth recording and commemorating, yet all are serendipitous: 🏛️Museum Night Event: This is a popular business model in the European art scene in recent years. During the summer, many museums, big and small, stay open late for one or two days a week. This not only helps to disperse visitors and reduce the pressure on museums but also perfectly promotes the integration of art into life and daily socializing. 🏛️Louis Bourgeois Special Exhibition: By sheer luck, we caught the first day of the special exhibition. The last time I saw an exhibition of Louis's work was six years ago in Shanghai. This time, the scale was smaller, probably due to the venue's space constraints, which couldn't accommodate Louis's typically large-scale works. 🏛️Nevertheless, Louis's bold and powerful works and the gentle and classic style of the art gallery formed a stark contrast. Indeed, it made the entire space more dynamic. Against the backdrop of night and music, the experience gained a touch of mystery and fairy-tale sentiment. 🏛️However, to be honest, unless you are an expert, have a special fondness for this place, or there are some special programs in the gallery, I wouldn't recommend including this gallery in your first itinerary to Rome. Although the murals, sculptures, and paintings here are indeed beautiful, they are essentially the standard fare of Rome and all of Italy. Works by Caravaggio and the beautiful murals and sculptures from the Renaissance period are also displayed in many other galleries, and they are by no means inferior. #EuropeanArt #Metropolis #FamousLandmarks #Italy
