Grand Teton National Park 🏞️ + Road Trip Moments Across the USA 🇺🇸

Located right next to Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Park is both lucky and unlucky. Being so close to Yellowstone means most visitors won’t miss it—after all, when you’re already there, why not check it out? ✅ But Grand Teton’s value goes far beyond just a quick stop. Its ecological diversity and stunning landscapes alone make it worthy of being a standout destination anywhere. Yet, positioned next to the legendary Yellowstone, it often falls into the role of an “optional extra”—like a brilliant supporting actor overshadowed by the lead star 🌟😅 In reality, the two parks have very different but complementary vibes. Yellowstone’s unique geothermal features give it an irreplaceable edge—how can you compete with something one-of-a-kind? Not even Grand Teton can. This was my second trip to Yellowstone, entering and exiting through the West Gate. The first time, I came in through the North Gate and left via the South Gate. The mountain roads from the North and South Gates feel steeper and more dramatic—especially the South Gate. The North Gate route even has a spooky, horror-movie vibe! 🎬 The West Gate, though, offers wide-open Western plains that make you feel free and expansive as you drive through. 🚗💨 On the way back, I took a detour through the Washington Palouse—famous for its golden wheat fields. This vast agricultural region in eastern Washington stretches for miles, defined by rolling hills and large-scale mechanized farming. 🌾 The wave-like landscape shifts with the seasons—spring greens, summer golds, autumn harvest tones—creating breathtaking views from every angle. I’ve visited many times, usually in late spring when everything is lush and green. This time, in late summer, everything was golden and ripe. But honestly? For pure scenic beauty, I still prefer the green version. 💚 I’d heard that the Palouse is often compared to Tuscany, Italy—so one year I traveled there to see for myself. But in person… they’re not the same at all! Each has its own charm, and both are incredibly beautiful. Though in terms of global fame, they’re on completely different levels. So maybe it’s best for Washington’s wheat fields to stay a lovely, low-key Hidden Gem. 💎 Have you visited Grand Teton or the Palouse? Which season or landscape left the biggest impression on you?
