Greensboro Food Share | Hokkaido Sushi in Greensboro
I found a hidden gem in Greensboro, NC! This Hokkaido Sushi is definitely among the top Japanese restaurants in the area. From appetizers to main courses and desserts, every dish is amazing—even the 5 foodies I went with ate until we were stuffed, and not a single dish disappointed! Dishes: Both Japanese and Chinese Cuisine Shine, Every Bite is a Delight ✨ Appetizer "Bird’s Nest": It caught our eye with its appearance as soon as it was served! The crispy "bird’s nest" is filled with fresh vegetables and sauce—one bite gives a satisfying crunch, and the sweet-sour flavor whets the appetite perfectly. It’s the ideal starter to kick off the meal~ Sushi Boat: The cost-effectiveness is off the charts! 🦞 The boat is loaded with sushi, with fresh sashimi like salmon, tuna, and geoduck piled high. The sashimi is so fresh you can taste its natural sweetness, tender and smooth in the mouth, with no fishy smell at all. The sushi rice is perfectly cooked—not too hard, not too soft—and wrapped with sashimi and wasabi; every bite is satisfying, even friends who don’t usually like raw food couldn’t help eating more. Ramen & Fried Rice: The main courses are equally fantastic! 🍜 The ramen broth is rich and mellow—one sip is full of the aroma of simmered bones, and the noodles are chewy and smooth. A special shoutout to the chashu (braised pork belly)—Sally (the manager) kindly gave us 5 extra pieces. It’s perfectly de-oiled, fragrant but not greasy, and melts in your mouth. We fought over every piece, and finally even drank up all the broth! The fried rice has separate, distinct grains, with the aroma of eggs and rice blending perfectly, plus hidden shrimp and vegetables—it’s simple but incredibly delicious~ Xiaolongbao (Steamed Soup Dumplings) & Gua Bao (Taiwanese Pork Belly Buns): Who knew a Japanese restaurant could make Chinese food so authentic! 🥟 The xiaolongbao has a thin skin and a juicy filling—bite into it, and the soup bursts in your mouth, so fresh it’s amazing. The gua bao is soft and fluffy, stuffed with meat and vegetables; one bite is filling, and it’s no worse than dedicated Chinese restaurants~ Atmosphere & Service: Clean, Considerate, and Perfect Experience 💯 Atmosphere: The restaurant is clean and neat, with a simple yet Japanese-style vibe. In the middle is an open sushi kitchen, where you can watch the chefs make sushi on-site. The freshness of the ingredients and hygiene are visible at a glance, so you can eat with complete peace of mind~ Service: The staff and Manager Sally definitely deserve a perfect score! 👩🍳 The waitstaff are super friendly, serve food quickly, and respond promptly to requests. Asking Sally for recommendations is a must—she enthusiastically suggests fresh daily ingredients based on your taste, and even secretly added extra chashu for us. What’s more, if you call in advance to make a reservation, you might get the hidden dessert: fried milk! It’s crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and rich in milk flavor—so delicious you’ll lick your fingers~ Cost-Effectiveness: $30 Per Person to Eat Until Stuffed, Cheaper Than Takeout 💰 5 big eaters ate until we were stuffed, and it was only $30 per person—cheaper than ordering takeout on a regular day! With large portions, great taste, and reasonable prices, this hidden gem is really hard to come by~ In short, whether you’re craving Japanese food or Chinese food, this restaurant has you covered. It’s definitely worth a special trip to try! Next time, I’ll make a reservation in advance to get the hidden fried milk~ #GreensboroFood #HokkaidoSushi #NCJapaneseFood #GreensboroEats
