Greenville | No Wonder It’s a 5.0-Star Restaurant

I’ve been wanting to try Jones Oyster Co. (right near my boyfriend’s office) for ages—and we finally made it! It did not disappoint. We got there right after 5 PM, as soon as my boyfriend finished work—and the restaurant was already almost full! We snagged the last two seats by the window; if we’d been a few minutes later, we would’ve had to wait outside. This unassuming little spot is a total hidden gem—fresh ingredients, incredible flavors, and vibes that make you want to linger. 🦪 The Star: Oysters (Don’t Miss Happy Hour!) This place is all about seafood—oysters, fish, crab, lobster… you name it. Sadly, we missed happy hour (when oysters are only $1.50 each!), so we paid full price—but they were still worth it. Just a reminder: Happy Hour is Tuesday to Friday, 2 PM to 4 PM—mark your calendars for next time! We ordered two types of oysters: Chef's Choice Oysters ($34 for a dozen) ⭐⭐⭐⭐½The price is pretty reasonable, and the varieties change based on what’s fresh that day. Individual oysters usually cost $3–$4 each. Our batch was three different types from Virginia, and each had a unique flavor. The server even told us to eat them from sweetest to briniest—such a nice touch! Every oyster was fresh (no fishy or off tastes), plump, and juicy. For Greenville, this quality is hard to beat—I was totally satisfied. NOLA Grilled Oysters ($18 for half a dozen) ⭐⭐⭐⭐I’m not usually a fan of cooked oysters, but these won me over! They’re smothered in garlic butter—rich, fragrant, and so tasty when paired with the side of bread. The oysters were grilled perfectly: still tender and juicy, not rubbery at all. A must-try even if you prefer raw oysters! 🥢 Bonus: Complimentary Fish Dip Sample ⭐⭐⭐⭐ As soon as we sat down, the server brought us a free sample of their fish dip—and it’s one of their signature appetizers for a reason! Chopped chili and onion add a zesty kick (it’s a little salty, but in the best way). My boyfriend loved it so much, he wanted to order a full portion after tasting it. 🍽 Main Courses (The Crab Fried Rice Is a Game-Changer!) We rounded out the meal with two mains—and one of them was life-changing: Crab Fried Rice ($22) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I’m not a big fan of fried rice… but I couldn’t stop eating this! It’s packed with big, real crab meat (no tiny shreds here!), and diced red and green chili add a bright, spicy pop. The flavor was so good, it took me by surprise—I’ll definitely order this every time we come back. Connecticut Lobster Roll ($28) ⭐⭐⭐⭐½They have two lobster roll options: Maine-style (tossed in mayo, served cold) and Connecticut-style (drenched in melted butter, warm). We went with Connecticut, and it let the lobster’s natural sweetness shine. It’s a great lobster roll—just not quite as mind-blowing as the crab fried rice. 📍 Practical Info Name: Jones Oyster Co. Average Cost: ~$60+ per person Reservations: Not accepted—walk-in only. Expect a 30-minute wait during peak meal times (worth it, though!). If you’re in Greenville and craving seafood, this spot is a must. It’s easy to see why it has a 5.0-star rating—fresh food, friendly service, and that cozy, neighborhood feel that keeps locals coming back. #Greenville #GreenvilleEats #Oysters #SeafoodRestaurant #RestaurantRecommendations #FoodDiary #FoodReview #FoodTours #100RestaurantsChallenge #SouthCarolina #GreenvilleSC #AmericanLife #HiddenGemRestaurants #TreasureRestaurantShares
