Spent the weekend at H Foundation for the Arts in San Marino for a wonderfully surprising group exhibition opening! "You See, But Do You?" 👁️❓ The exhibition brings together works from five emerging artists: Zengyi Zhao, Shuai Xu, Camille Ji, Sigrid Qian, and Alice Zhou. Their creations span photography, painting, and installation—all exploring the theme of "perception vs. reality," yet each expressing it in their own unique style. 🖼️🎭🧩 The central hanging installation was absolutely breathtaking! It resembled a “paused” ocean surface, with layered sheets of paper suspended mid-air. Visitors could walk around it and observe from different angles, almost feeling immersed within the piece themselves. 🌊📄✨ One work that left a deep impression on me was the "mystery box" artwork. You could choose to purchase it and open it on the spot to discover what’s inside—or (as the artist said) decide never to open it, letting it remain an "unknown presence" accompanying you. This embodies the very experience the artist hopes to convey: that uncertainty itself can be a complete and meaningful feeling. 🎁🤔💫 During the opening, light refreshments and drinks were served—sparkling water, cheese platters, and fresh grapes—all glowing under the afternoon sun and casting soft shadows between the artworks and walls.
