Hanto Peninsula’s Sichuan food is just too hardcore for me, honestly
Last time we came, the pipes were under repair, so we couldn’t eat here. This time, we got smarter and called ahead to confirm they were open before driving over! After all, it’s not exactly easy to just pop into Ashland — it’s pretty far out. We ordered four dishes for the two of us. Clams with Chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We asked for mild spice, but the flavor was still super intense. That’s probably how authentic Sichuan food is supposed to be, though. For someone like me who doesn’t handle spice too well, it was seriously spicy — to the point my stomach was cramping up. Felt less refreshing compared to Noah’s version. Mao Xue Wang (Spicy Blood and Tofu Stew) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve tried this dish at so many places, and every one is different. First time having it with fish slices inside. Portion was decent, flavor was okay. Spicy Pig Trotter ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tasted like cumin dry pot — not bad, but nothing particularly outstanding. Mushroom with Crispy Rice Crackers ⭐️⭐️ Sorry, but I can only give it two stars. Felt like it was basically hot and sour soup thickened with a ton of starch. Really not my thing. Overall, this is some pretty hardcore Sichuan food. Recommended for those who can really handle the heat! #BostonLife #SichuanFoodInBoston #SpicyFoodDay #SichuanCuisine
