Have You Tried This $26 AYCE Hot Pot + BBQ Spot in LA Yet? 🍲🔥

My all-time favorite AYCE hot pot place from Boston — Spring Shabu — is now in LA! (Okay, maybe it’s been here for a while and I just didn’t know 😅) We went for the Hot Pot + BBQ combo — $31.99 on Friday nights, but usually just over $20 on weekdays. Honestly, these days even a lunch box costs $15–$17, so this is a steal! They have multiple buffet stations (around 5–7, I lost count!): 🥬 Vegetables, mushrooms, tofu skins 🍤 Seafood bar — crab and crawfish self-serve 🍢 Meatballs, snacks, desserts, ice cream 🥣 Even two separate sauce bars — so many choices! 🍲 Broth options are plentiful too — pick your favorite! 🦐 The star: Argentinian red shrimp — as long as my chubby little hand! My husband kept ordering more and we finished them all. 🍖 The BBQ part was just okay — the beef short ribs were a bit tough and hard to grill evenly. Next time we’ll probably skip BBQ and stick to hot pot. Overall, for around $30 per person with this much variety, a few minor complaints are totally acceptable! And importantly — no stomach issues afterwards (unlike some places where we rush to the bathroom right after eating 😂). Service was decent — staff were patient and moved at a reasonable pace. At this price point, you really can’t ask for much more! Just being able to eat this much — especially those huge shrimp — without issues already made me happy 😌. 📍 Spring Shabu Shabu in El Monte AYCE is great, but remember: take what you can eat, don’t waste! ♻️ #LAfood #LAlife #LAexplore #BudgetHotPotLA #LAHotPot #LAWeekend 🥘
