Louisville Mini Trip for a Conference 🧳 The city is pretty small, so I didn’t rent a car. Took an Uber from the airport to downtown — cost less than $20. Also tried the bus a few times (only comes about once an hour though…). Downtown is pretty small — you can walk through it in under two hours 🚶‍♂️. Whiskey Row 🥃: Went into a few places and took photos — Old Forester Distilling Co. and others. Lots of restaurants too. 21c Museum 🖼️: An art gallery hotel. The first floor has a small free exhibit. There’s a cool golden David statue at the entrance. Lottie the Triceratops 🦖: Near the science center, next to the highway — a rooftop dinosaur! Roof lovers will love this. Louisville Slugger Museum ⚾: Museum all about baseball bats. Took a photo outside — didn’t go in since I’m not into baseball. Flame Run 🔥: Glassblowing studio — didn’t go in. Muhammad Ali Center 🥊: Not really my thing, so skipped it. Walked 20 mins (or took the bus — app ticket $1.50 per ride) to the famous Red Tree Furniture 🛋️. It’s huge with lots of cool decor. Spent about half an hour there. The area around it is a commercial district with lots of young people and restaurants. Already decorated for Christmas! 🎄 Didn’t make it to Old Louisville. Speed Art Museum 🎨: Currently has a Yayoi Kusama Infinity Mirror Room. The permanent collection has lots of oil paintings, plus some Egyptian and ancient Roman artifacts. Free on Sundays — open from 10am (despite what the glass wall says). Sponsored by a family/trust — free Sundays until at least 2026. Spent 2 hours there. Churchill Downs 🐎: Two parts — the actual racetrack (Kentucky Derby) and the separate Kentucky Derby Museum. The museum isn’t huge — can finish in under 2 hours. They have a cool 360° panoramic film (30 mins long) with historical footage — super fun to watch. There’s also an interactive horse racing game where you can compete with others 🏇, and machines that teach you how to bet on horses. There’s a KFC Museum 🍗 located at Yum! Brands HQ (1900 Colonel Sanders Ln). Info online is scarce — seems like it’s only open on weekdays when employees are working. Don’t confuse it with Sanders Cafe & Museum — that’s a different place. St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church ⛪: Said to have two ancient saint relics. Too far — didn’t go. Let me know if you'd like a polished version for a blog or social media! 😄 #Louisville #Kentucky #FoodieFind #HiddenGem #BBQLovers
