Hidden Gem in the Neighborhood: Bebo's Cafe

💛As soon as you push the door open, you’re greeted by a lively and bustling atmosphere—this place is seriously popular in San Juan! 🥑Sure, it’s a bit noisy, but think about it: a spot packed with locals is almost always a sure sign of great food. We tried to come during off-peak hours, but still ended up waiting a little while. A special shout-out goes to their guacamole and fried cheese! 🍋The guacamole tasted incredibly fresh—you could tell it was made from avocados mashed to order, mixed with diced tomatoes and a squeeze of lemon juice. Served with crispy tortilla chips, it was downright addictive. 🧀For the main course, we tried the Puerto Rican classic, Mofongo. It’s made with a base of fried green plantain mash, wrapped around slow-cooked shredded pork. 🍺The sauce soaked into the soft plantains, making it rich but not heavy. To be honest, while Bebo’s plating might be a bit more refined, the flavors here are all about authentic, home-style goodness. #PuertoRicanCuisine #SanJuanEats #HomeStyleFlavors
