Hobart|Chasing the Milky Way at the Edge of the World 🌌
I’ve always wanted to chase the aurora in Tasmania’s winter. Although it rained and I didn’t get to see the northern lights, I unexpectedly caught the Milky Way instead — so healing! ✨ 【🌌 Aurora/Milky Way Viewing】 You don’t necessarily have to go too far! Choose a stargazing spot closer to where you’re staying. Driving far at night can be pretty scary 🚗😳! Many roads have no streetlights, and kangaroos might suddenly jump out… honestly spooky. We played the happiest music all the way to boost our courage. No one admitted they were scared — until the next day when we all confessed: everyone was actually terrified 😂 📸 Shooting tip: A 10-30 second phone time-lapse can capture the Milky Way! No camera? No worries. 【🏠 Richmond Town】 Just a 20-minute drive from Hobart CBD. 🧭 Richmond Bridge: Perfect for photos at this historic bridge landmark. So many cute ducks around — absolutely adorable! 🦆 🍰 Czegs’ Cafe: Their honey cake is delicious and not overly sweet — just perfect! Probably THE best honey cake I’ve had in Tassie 🍯 TOP1! 🎁 The town is small but packed with cute lavender shops and street stalls — great for picking up souvenirs. 【🏝️ Bruny Island】 Buy your ticket on the spot. Timetables are displayed while queuing. Just drive onto the ship — no need to get out of the car! 🚢 ☁️ It’s super windy — dress warm! 🔭 The Neck Lookout: The most iconic photo spot! From the top, you see two differently colored oceans on each side — like standing on the dividing line of the world 🌍. On sunny days, the contrast is even clearer! 🍞 Also visited the famous little bread fridge — chubby and ultra-cute! 🥖❤️ Island Food Recommendations: 🦪 Get Shucked: Must-try fresh oysters! Plump, sweet, and super fresh. The cooked ones are just okay — not really recommended. 🍦 Bruny Island Honey: Ice cream made with leatherwood honey — creamy, smooth, and aromatic! Don’t forget to bring some jars of honey home as gifts 🍯. #HobartTravel #TasmaniaTravelGuide #MilkyWayPhotography #RichmondTas #HiddenGemsAustralia #BrunyIsland #Richmond #TravelScenes #HobartAurora #LifeInAustralia #WhereToGoOnHoliday
