Hobart | Richmond Town Travel Guide
Explore the charming and historic town of Richmond, Tasmania – a perfect day trip from Hobart! ✈️ Day 1 Arrived at 9 AM, had brunch in Richmond, then headed to Hobart CBD (just 20 mins away). All the shops are concentrated on the main street — I recommend eating first, then strolling all the way down. ⏰ Suggested time: 1 – 1.5 hours 🌞 The sunlight was gorgeous — every photo turned out beautiful! 💐 If you have time, bring a picnic set — perfect for the riverside! 📍 Must-Visit Spots (in walking order): 🎭 1. Souvenir Shops on Main Street You’ll find lovely local souvenirs like lavender bears 🧸, Hobart mini models, and lavender products (soaps, essential oils, sachets). (Note: Similar items are also available at Salamanca Market!) 🍯 2. Czegs’ Café – Honey Cake 📌 46 Bridge St, Richmond TAS 7025 A charming English-style café with vintage vibes. 🍯 Russian Honey Cake – $9.5 (enough for two!) Not too sweet, soft, layered — definitely worth it! ☕️ Paired with hot chocolate (just right and affordable!) 🧁 Apple Cinnamon Cake – $9.5 Very strong cinnamon flavor — recommended only if you’re a cinnamon lover! 🌉 3. Richmond Bridge The oldest stone bridge in Australia 🏛️ Great views from the top, and the lawn below is perfect for photos — especially for couples or friends! On a sunny day, with green grass, the old bridge, flowing water, and pigeons — it feels like walking into a painting 🖼️. 🦆 4. Feed the Ducks Don’t miss this! So cute! Buy feed ($2) at the Gingerbread shop — but be careful, the ducks might chase you 😂 ⛪️ 5. St John’s Catholic Church The oldest Catholic church in Australia — well-preserved and peaceful. 🥧 6. The Richmond Bakery – Curry Scallop Pie 📌 50 Bridge St, Richmond TAS 7025 A must-try! Eat it while it’s hot — not fishy at all 🥧 Crispy pastry + curry scallops = perfect match! Though it’s a small town, every shop is worth visiting. So quiet and relaxing — the perfect escape 😌 📸 Great for photos, slow walks, and tasting local flavors! #TravelAustralia #Tasmania #RichmondTAS #HobartDayTrip #FoodieAdventure #HistoricTown #ExploreTAS #SoloTravel #PhotoSpots
