Home Feast · Hunan-Inspired Bistro Dishes with “God of Cookery” Vibes
After watching a cooking show over the weekend, couldn’t resist getting into the kitchen — made some Hunan fusion dishes and invited friends over to taste. 🫑 Charred Green Pepper & Century Egg Burrata Sounds wild, but seriously delicious — roasted green peppers fragrant, burrata soft and creamy, drizzled with garlic-chili oil sauce. Scoop some century egg and charred pepper, spread on sourdough — creamy + smoky = perfection. 🥣 Cherry & Shiso Fish Meatball Soup Inspired by a chef’s fish meatball recipe — added some cherry pork for sweetness. Fish broth simmered with shiso leaves — rich, milky, subtly sweet. 🍝 Salted Egg Yolk Tiger Prawn Pasta Fry prawn heads for fragrant oil, mix with steamed salted egg yolk, mash and blend with the oil. Cook angel hair, chill for chewiness. Tiger prawns are huge and plump. 🍄🟫 Green Pepper & Morel Mushroom Stir-Fry with Pork Morels from Eataly — pricey but worth it for the umami broth that’s perfect over rice. Pork slices are Nijiya’s sakura pork — well-marbled, no gaminess — just wish there was more. Might share tutorials for this series later — making bistro fusion dishes at home is so much fun! 😺 Day job: data scientist in tech. 10-year LA local — follow for more food, travel & life content ~ #HomeFeast #HomeCooking #CozyMeals #LAFood #LAEats #ElevatedHomeDining
