It's such a shame that a restaurant with such high quality food and a gorgeous atmosphere is plagued by such incompetent, arrogant, rude, and outright malicious staff.

I went here for a late dinner with my friends tonight, and had the displeasure of being served by this waiter who was giving us a lot of attitude and mean looks right from the beginning in addition to making a snippy comment along the lines of "are you going to order something?" despite the fact we had just arrived. A few of my friends noticed too, but we kept it to ourselves as we know everyone can have a bad day.

However, when it came time to order, our waiter neglected to write down our order because "(he'd) been there awhile." My friends are all pretty good natured and made a couple jokes but ultimately did not care. I ordered fried shrimp as an appetizer and their house pasta. My friend ordered the veggie pasta with no tomatoes.

Instead of what I had ordered, I was given the pasta with five regular shrimp in my pasta and a 5 minute speech about how "actually our happy hour fryer is turned off so I couldn't make this for you - which despite 'working here for awhile' I didnt know because I don't work here at night so we had to do this." Which is honestly a WILD decision to make without talking to the customer first (probs would've just not gotten shrimp at all) but again: I didn't care.

HOWEVER, my friend who had ordered no tomatoes in her pasta because she has something called complex mastocytosis activation that causes her to get very sick bc of select fruits, did in fact have an allergic reaction to the tomatoes that were still in her dish. She calmly gets up to take a bendryl and politely AND privately tell the waiter that she had an allergic reaction and was instead BRUTALLY reprimanded by the waiter who INSISTED he remembered and that it was the kitchen's fault and that she should've specified that she had an allergy (it's the waiter's job to clarify btw) and when my friend made a comment about how that sounded victim blame-y he rolled his eyes and made a sexist comment. Then the manager overhears and instead of solving the issue, JUMPS ON BOARD with the waiter and starts telling my friend she needed to "protect herself!!!" So my friend, obviously frustrated, mentions that it wasn't the first mistake he had made with our meal in reference to my situation and the waiter backs off but not even an apology was given.

Finally the bill comes out, and not only am I paying extra for the shrimp I did not order but my friend is paying for the pasta with tomatoes!!!!! It took a separate friend to go and demand it being removed from the bill for it to happen despite them telling us "actually we were planning on doing that!" (im still paying extra for shrimp i didnt order btw). Finally, the revised bill is given to us and instead of apologizing the manager has to undermine us once again by INSISTING that it was just red pepper and the allergic reaction came from food contamination as if that makes it any better!!!! My friend was deeply sick for the rest of the night and it was YOUR FAULT!

Without a doubt the worst service I've ever received in my whole life. That waiter should NEVER work a front-facing role ever again. Genuinely horrid, mean-spirited behavior.

Until people like that no longer work there, you're better off ordering takeout from them (or having a pack of benedryl and a xanax on hand to tolerate your...

I took my daughter to have a nice Christmas Day lunch after visiting a few times before and always having great food and great service. I also thought it’s Christmas so I can brighten the day of whoever is working by giving them a really nice tip. Instead, despite multiple empty tables, our service today was abysmal. We waited a long time to order. We didn’t receive our drinks until after we received our food and asked for them again. The waitress asked the table next to us if they want another round of drinks but never asked us. She asked the same table if they want dessert but never asked us. I finally ask about dessert bc it’s Christmas so why not have a treat, and she tells me I need to go ask at the counter bc she isn’t sure what they have. I just heard you ask the table next to us if they wanted dessert, but you’re telling me to go to the counter and ask if I want something. Wow. Okay. She was never friendly or helpful throughout the entire meal. I have been told it’s bc if they think you are a tourist they treat you differently. Well, I’m not a tourist, and her mistake for assuming anything bc her tip went from my planned at least 50% as a nice Merry Christmas to her and a thank you for working on Christmas Day,, to the low standard 18%, and the only reason I gave her that is bc it’s Christmas. She didn’t deserve it. Today’s experience has changed how I feel about this restaurant. I didn’t need to be catered to, but at the same time maybe smile or pretend to be nice or bring my drink without me having to ask for it again after you brought my food. She could see we didn’t have drinks and still didn’t say oh let me go get those, she said nothing and I had to ask for them. Maybe treat each table equally instead of treating us like we’re a bother. To be fair, the other waiter I saw was straight up hustling. When his tables asked for something he took care of it immediately and he was smiling the whole time. I would have gladly tipped him at least 50% of our bill like I had planned, maybe even a little more bc he was awesome. Instead we got the grinch, no refills and no dessert. Hopefully she doesn’t always provide such...

I love a good French bistro, so I was very excited to try Figaro. Many of my friends have had it for brunch but I always base a restaurant’s quality on their dinner service so I chose to try an evening meal for the first time. Parking in the area can be very tricky, there are pay lots close by, but I was able to find street parking a few blocks away even though I had to fight with a few other cars to get the space. The most popular seating for this restaurant is on the street outside where you can people watch, but the tables are very close together so I chose to dine indoors tonight. Our waiter was truly awesome and very polite and did a great job. They have a large bakery in the front as you enter, so I would suggest taking some pastries or breakfast items to go after your meal. One of the first things I noticed after sitting down is the size of the menu. It is honestly huge with seemingly a 100 options, or more, so you can really try a new dish every time you come and never run out of options for at least a month. I started with the Beef Carpaccio, a personal favorite of mine since childhood, which was a smaller sized portion, but still very good. Next came my entrée the Chilean Seabass, and it was truly great. It was a decent sized portion and they did a great job crisping the outside, giving a crunch to each bite. The ver blanc sauce with it was a nice combination as well. For dessert we had the Chocolate Soufflé and it was very good, although was closer to a lava cake. It did not come in a ramekin and lacked the true soufflé favor, but still it was very enjoyable, and we ate every bit of it. Pricing is very fair here, so I know can see why it’s very popular with all sorts of people. It’s honestly a really good choice for a nice casual French meal.

Figaro Bistrot was nostalgic of my time in France. I am near fluent in French and I spent about half a year living in Strasbourg, France. The outdoor seating down to the types of chairs and tables was exactly the kind that I used to take my lunch coffees at and walk by down the streets everyday. Even the menu that they handed me was formatted exactly as the cafés in Strasbourg and in Paris. Come here, grab a croissant and a coffee for breakfast, take your time, and watch the people whose lives pass by as you take a moment to feel human. That is the beauty of french culture and that is what you will experience at Figaro Bistrot if you allow yourself to be free from the stress of life. The indoor is just as French as the warm and artsy interior reminded me of some of the bouillons I dined at in Paris. The one critique I have is that the indoor chairs were a little bit uncomfortable to dine in. They're lovely for some drinks and entrées, but difficult to eat a big meal in. As for the food, I visited Figaro Bistrot on Christmas Day which featured a special holiday menu. We ordered steak tartare, salad niçoise, lamb chops, branzino, and beef Wellington. The portions were very generous for each dish but I have to say that the main dishes seriously impressed. Never have I had lamb chops so tender and with such depth of flavor. The branzino was so fresh and I loved the red wine sauce on the beef Wellington. If you are a REAL foodie and I mean someone who truly values the experience of having a meal and not just posting Instagram worthy food, give Figaro Bistrot a visit.
