Houston's New Michelin Star: BCN 🎉🇪🇸

Tucked away in an unassuming Montrose neighborhood, BCN is a hidden gem that requires a reservation at least a month in advance for weekend dinner—unless you’re sitting at the bar, of course. 😅 Housed in a converted small house, the restaurant is cozy and charming, with a vibe that’s pure Barcelona. The walls are adorned with authentic Barcelona-style art, and to my delight, there’s even an original Picasso ceramic piece! Each table also features replicas of the artwork. 🎨 The waiter, who seemed like a true enthusiast, warmly introduced the restaurant and the origins of the art. You could tell he’s deeply passionate about his hometown and its cuisine. While we waited for our meal, they brought out some complimentary appetizers, bread, and cheese—such a thoughtful touch! 😃 Their gin & tonic is quite famous, and for good reason. It’s refreshing with a complex flavor profile that’s simply delightful. 🥃 The 36-month aged Iberico ham is a must-try. Sliced paper-thin, it melts in your mouth with a subtle nutty and creamy flavor. The saltiness is perfectly balanced, and the depth of flavor from the aging process is incredible. It’s pricey, but absolutely worth it. 👍 The squid ink paella and fried squid rings are also fantastic. The dishes are healthy, with minimal frying, and the flavors are refined and delicious. 🦑 For dessert, I tried the Gypsy’s arm and crispy fillo dough. Both were amazing and a great way to end the meal. 🍪 #Houston #HoustonEats #HoustonFoodie #FoodieFinds #ArtfulEating #SpanishCuisine #MichelinExperience #DiningWithStyle
