Houston | Japanese Ramen Restaurant Rakkan
Rakkan Ramen has four locations in the Houston area, each with around 1,000 Google reviews, and even the lowest-rated one has a 4.7 score. Overall Ambiance: πππ The shop is quite small, and it gets very crowded at lunchtime, which can feel a bit cramped. Additionally, after eating, there's a lingering fried-food smell on your clothes, which isn't very pleasant. However, the overall decor and layout are quite elegant and visually appealing, and the service is very friendly. Ramen: ππππ The ramen is decent, typical of Japanese-style noodles. They are known for their vegetable-based broth, and although we all ordered the rich, thick broth, it still tasted good. π I highly recommend their Asian Special Ramen, which is their signature dish and only available until next March. It features cilantro and garlic, giving it a fragrant, slightly reminiscent of Chinese cold noodles. πOctopus Balls: The octopus balls are average, with not-so-generous fillings. πTuna Donburi: I also recommend their Tuna Donburi. The fish is very fresh, and the small portion is more than enough for one person. Drizzled with soy sauce, it's incredibly flavorful. Pricing: The prices are a bit on the higher side. A bowl of ramen costs $14, and the small portion of donburi is $9. There are quite a few other ramen options in Houston at similar prices, but the overall service here is really good. If you're interested, definitely give their special dish a try! #Houston #HoustonLife #HoustonDining #HoustonFood #HoustonEats
