Houston | SALA Thai Eatery π₯
Finally, I found a Thai restaurant in Houston that's truly amazing! πππ But let me say upfront, the highlight of this place is its fusion dishes. If youβre looking for traditional Thai food, this might not be the best fit for you. π π₯ Yum Woonsen This is my favorite dish hereβa humble salad that we initially ordered to balance out the meat dishes, but it ended up being the star of the meal! π The ingredients are fresh, the squid is super chewy, and the dressing is refreshing without being sticky. The glass noodles are also a delicious touch! π π Kao Soy A signature dish here, the braised beef short ribs come with fresh pappardelle and Thai curry sauce. The flavors are nice, though the beef is a bit dry. The pasta, however, is delicious! π We also tried: β¨ Lobster Bisque Tom Yum π¦: The lobster is a bit small, but the flavor is great! β¨ Striped Bass Curry π: The fish is average, but the sauce is really tasty. β¨ Jao Pra Ya Prawn π¦: The glass noodles are amazing! The shrimp doesnβt have much meat, but it has roe. β¨ Lamb Musman π: The lamb chops are unevenly cooked and not very flavorful, but the mashed potatoes are yummy! β¨ Mango Rice π₯: It looks really nice, and Iβve heard itβs delicious! β¨ Chocolate Cake π«: I love the almond crunch! The cake is not too sweet and not greasy. This restaurant just opened recently, and itβs still a bit under the radar. The place is small, and the foot traffic is relatively low. It seems like their Instagram promotion just started, and influencers havenβt discovered it yet. No reservation needed for now! π The waiter was super friendly. We chatted for hours, and he never rushed us. He also refilled our water frequently. Highly recommended! π The portions are small, and I think the prices are quite reasonable (though opinions may vary, so check the menu for yourself and decide what adjective fits best! π). Itβs a budget-friendly spot for working folks! π Located in the pricey Westheimer area, right across from Soto. Parking is still easy for now, but who knows about the future! #ThaiFood #HiddenRestaurant #Houston #HoustonFood #HoustonEats #Foodie #WorkingPersonApproved
