Houston | The Baker’s Son - Purple Sweet Potato Bakery

🌟A few days ago, I came across a post saying that the craving for bread comes in waves. I rarely ever buy bread on my own, but recently I’ve been really craving it. 🌟This Filipino bakery is not far from the school and is quite famous, especially for its variety of purple sweet potato bread. As soon as I walked in, I wanted to buy everything. I went there last night, and they still had a good selection. Unfortunately, we were in a hurry to get to the rodeo and didn’t have time to browse carefully. I just picked up the ones that caught my eye. 🌟On the right in the picture is the ube cheese roll. The outer layer is ube (purple sweet potato) glaze, and the inside is cream cheese. When it was on the shelf, it was wrapped in paper, so I couldn’t see what it looked like inside. If I had seen the glaze, I probably wouldn’t have bought it. It’s much sweeter than what you’d find in Chinese bakeries. Fortunately, the bread is small, so it’s somewhat acceptable. Plus, it’s really soft, which is a big plus for me. However, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who doesn’t like sweet things! 😄The two small round cakes on the left are called Hopia. I tried the ube and mung bean flavors. I think they’re like mooncakes or taro pastries. They’re not very sweet, but they can be a bit dry and hard to swallow. I saw that they also have meat fillings, so I’ll try those next time. 😄Address: 8025 Main St suite a, Houston, TX 77025 *This shop doesn’t accept cards for purchases under $10. #Houston #HoustonFood #HoustonEats #HoustonBakery #HoustonBread #RiceAreaFood
