Houston | This Newly Opened Chaozhou Cuisine Restaurant

I Tried Ming Kee, the Newly Opened Chaozhou Restaurant Last Night👣👣 From the moment I walked in until I paid and left, the restaurant was fully packed. When I was leaving, there were already 10 people waiting in line outside! It’s been ages since I’ve seen a restaurant in Chinatown this busy—it made me feel like I was back before the pandemic, with business absolutely booming! 🌟 I Actually Tried Their Food Months Ago When they were doing pre-order meal deliveries a few months back, I had their seafood congee and pan-fried oyster cake. Back then, I thought they were decent but not mind-blowing. However, the food tastes so much better when eaten fresh in the restaurant 😭😭😭 This meal really touched my heart! 🌟 Highly Recommend the Chaozhou Braised Meat Platter🏖️🏖️ It’s so delicious and authentic. We asked if we could customize the platter by choosing our favorite items, and they said we could pick 4-5 kinds as long as we mentioned it when ordering. In the end, we got a platter with braised duck, pork intestines, tofu, and pig ears.👂🏻 - The braised pork intestines were amazing! - The duck meat was not tough at all—super tender!🌻🌻 - The pig ears were well-seasoned, and the tofu was incredibly soft. Everything was so good 😭 I loved dipping them in the braising sauce mixed with their house-made vinegar—it cuts through the greasiness perfectly. This platter was such a heartwarming dish 😂 🌟 Then There’s the Seafood Congee❣️ They make it by simmering fresh seafood. The shrimp was springy, and the congee was loaded with ingredients. 🌟🌟 We ordered a medium portion (for 2-3 people), which had 2 crabs, plus plenty of shrimp, clams, and more. They also added stir-fried onions and garlic for extra aroma.🥩🥩 You have to wait about 30 minutes for the seafood congee since it’s simmered fresh, and it’s piping hot when served—but it’s way better than the takeout version I had before. I personally like adding a bit of white pepper to my congee; it was so good I couldn’t stop eating!🌸🌸 🌟 I Also Liked the Fried Shrimp Balls🍟 They were super crispy, with water chestnuts inside for a crunchy texture, plus whole shrimp pieces—so rich in texture 😋 🌟 We Also Ordered a Homemade Dish: Stir-Fried Egg with Preserved Radish It’s not even on the menu 😂 But I really missed this dish—my mom used to make it all the time. 🌟 Finally, the Pan-Fried Oyster Cake It had a huge amount of oysters! But personally, I don’t like the sticky, glutinous texture of undercooked eggs (I’ve never been a fan of Taiwanese oyster omelets either). So I just picked out the oysters to eat and gave the egg part to my friend 😂 For those who like this texture, they said it tasted good. 🌟 I Took Two Photos of the Menu Before Leaving I wanted to figure out what to order next time—and honestly, I already have my next order planned out 🤣 📍 Address It’s in the screenshot, and it’s the former location of Jiu Fu Rice Noodle. 9968 Bellaire Blvd # 230, Houston, TX 77036 #MyFoodDiary #DailyEats #HoustonFood #RestaurantHunt #WeekendEats #Houston #HoustonLife
