Passing by Rice University (affectionately nicknamed "Rice" or even "Rice University, the 'Rice' of Knowledge" 🍚😉) during my travels, I decided to take a little detour and explore 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️. True to its reputation as a private research university, the campus is exquisitely compact compared to others, with an air of elegance in its design and layout. Sitting in the lobby of the first floor of an academic building, I closed my eyes and listened to the bustling energy of students from diverse backgrounds coming and going between classes—a whirlwind of beautiful, complex emotions washing over me. While Rice is renowned for its engineering programs, its Shepherd School of Music and visual arts areas also struck me as stunningly beautiful. One particular scene stood out: between buildings, there was a cozy seating area where an Asian girl, enjoying the gentle breeze, sat chatting with a silver-haired grandpa, gazing out at the lush green lawn.
