Find Things to DoFind The Best Restaurants

Houston | Final Chapter 🍲

I’ve been thinking these past few days — what should my last post about Houston be about? The more I thought, the more I realized: no single restaurant can fully represent everything Houston is. To me, the highest praise for a restaurant is calling it “my canteen” — a place so good I’d return again and again. But honestly, Houston doesn’t really have those “mind-blowing” restaurants that leave you speechless. Its charm lies in its diversity, and in the interesting people you share meals with. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 The true meaning of a “canteen” isn’t necessarily about flawless flavors or exquisite dishes — it’s about the conversations worth remembering every time you go. Food becomes a medium for memories, making you want to come back for more. So, rather than missing a specific restaurant, what I’ll miss the most are the people I shared those meals with. 🥲 For this final post, I can’t possibly list every restaurant I’ve been to in Houston — a quick count easily reaches hundreds. 😂 So I decided to simply share some recent spots in a casual, everyday style. I’ve never been too concerned about engagement — sharing authentically has always been my goal here, and I’ll keep it that way. 😊 🍲 QL Noodle One of my go-to canteens — great value. Their beef offal hot pot and beef noodles are hearty and satisfying. 🌮 Torchy’s Tacos A Houston taco icon. I always go for the Baja Shrimp — so good! 🍖 Jang Choong Dong My spot for Korean-style pork trotters and sundae guk (blood sausage soup). Always hits the spot. 🍣 Zen Japanese Izakaya One of the best izakayas in town — their sushi and sashimi are top-notch in quality. 🍜 Dakao My absolute favorite for Vietnamese chicken pho and fish sauce wings — unbeatable! 👍 🌽 Migo Their corn is something I genuinely crave if I haven’t had it in a while. 🍗 Cane’s My comfort food go-to when I’m short on time or not up for traveling far. To those who say it’s not good — I disagree but respect your taste. 🙂 Alright then, goodbye Houston — till next time! 😀 #Houston #HoustonFood #HoustonEats #FoodDiary #LocalEats #WorthSharing #MemorableMoments #EveryMomentCounts
