Houston 6-Hour Layover Spot | Museum of Fine Arts, Houston🖼️

Winter break has started, and my good friend and I flew from New York to Mexico with a 6-hour layover in Houston. It was my first time in Texas, and since we were already there, we decided to make the most of it by visiting the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, which is 18 miles from the airport. ❤️**Transportation: Uber** - 1:30 PM: $40, 30 minutes to get there. - 5:30 PM: $52, 1 hour back. ⚠️ **Time Management**: Be mindful of the time! We got caught in rush hour traffic on the way back. Our Uber driver had to speed up to help us catch our flight. Always allow plenty of buffer time! ⏳ ❤️**Admission** The museum is closed on Mondays, but it offers free admission all day on Thursdays (except for special exhibitions). Regular adult tickets are $20. ❤️**Highlights** - The collection is decent, though not overly extensive. It focuses mainly on Latin American and American art, but there are some notable works by Monet, Gauguin, Van Gogh, and Picasso. - The architecture is stunning, designed by renowned architects Louis Kahn and Renzo Piano. The exterior features a beautiful sculpture garden that's especially picturesque at sunset. The interior is modern and thoughtfully designed, with an interesting twisted mirror projection near the main entrance on the first floor. - The gift shop is pretty standard, but the first-floor café, Café Leonelli, is a must-visit. Their cold brew is smooth and delicious, and the lemon tart and bakery items are fantastic. Dining by the window is super relaxing! 😌 #HoustonLayover #Houston #USA #TravelTips
