Houston Restaurant Exploration: Musaafer Indian Restaurant

🌟Conclusion: I really enjoyed the food here! 🌟My friend, who has a family member working at Michelin, has always wanted to bring me to this Indian restaurant in Houston that won a Michelin star in its first evaluation. Finally, I got the chance to visit and see what all the fuss is about.🌟 🌟To be honest, the service was virtually non-existent, and the food came out extremely slowly. But I still think it's worth the Michelin star, mainly because of the chef's tasting course, which I absolutely loved! 🍱Every dish was meticulously prepared with rich and layered flavors. The appetizers were particularly worth savoring, as you close your mouth and use your nasal cavity to fully appreciate the wonderful aroma of the spices. Sitting on the patio, enjoying the gentle and refreshing spring breeze of Houston, listening to the soothing background music, watching the sky change from blue to orange to deep blue, and gazing at the bustling traffic of the Galleria, it felt like I was in a resort in India that might not even exist—it was such a magical experience! 🍱To be honest, I added a lamb rack to the tasting course, making it a total of 13 dishes, which was more than enough for two people with average appetites. Unfortunately, the staff insisted that it wouldn't be enough, so we ended up ordering a lot more. Halfway through, we both had to get up and walk around to make room in our stomachs to continue eating the main course. In the end, we had to take a lot of food home. It was so filling that we couldn't even get back in the car immediately—ugh! 🥖 The texture could be a bit more tender, but having a bit of chewiness actually gave me more opportunities to savor the harmony of all the spices and flavors. The chef did a great job balancing it. I'm used to eating curry, so I actually thought the dessert in this tasting menu was the most Indian-flavored dish. 🥖The current tasting menu will soon be replaced by a new spring menu, so you might experience different dishes when you visit. I'm also looking forward to the surprises they'll bring! They're also opening a branch in New York in July, and it will have a different menu. If you have the chance, definitely give it a try! Oh, and they automatically add a 20% service charge to all dishes, but there was hardly any service. I kind of rolled my eyes at that. Don't get too carried away and leave extra tips just because of the service charge! #HoustonLife #HoustonRestaurantExploration #IndianCuisine #Michelin #ExoticFlavors #Musaafer
