I’ll be heartbroken if anyone visits SD without trying this pizzeria

📍Buona Forchetta Three locations: Coronado Island, South Park, Liberty Station Friends, I’m saying this from the bottom of my heart: If you only eat at two places while visiting SD, one must be The Taco Stand, and the other has to be Buona Forchetta. These two are the only restaurants I can confidently put on the “Must-Try in San Diego” list. Just flip through my camera roll—I’ve been here over 10 times in the past few years. I used to not be a pizza person. Until I tried Buona Forchetta. I used to think American pizza = thick, endlessly stretchy cheese + a mouthful of grease. Then Buona Forchetta taught me what a flavorful, non-greasy pizza truly is. Authentic buffalo mozzarella. No stretchy strings, no heaviness, just a slight bounce and the purest milky aroma. Some of their pizzas feature ricotta cheese—soft with a creamy, slightly grainy texture. Absolutely incredible. I used to believe “the world’s best pizza is only in Naples.” I tried it… and it was just okay. Until Buona Forchetta. I also thought “Italian pizza only comes in a few classic flavors—no room for creativity.” Until Buona Forchetta. This pizzeria truly has its own style, from ingredients to flavor combinations. It has developed a unique identity through its pizza. While they stand by “no pineapple on pizza,” they’re fearless in innovation elsewhere—bold flavors and playful pairings. You can order any pizza with your eyes closed. But for first-timers, I strongly recommend two directions: 🔥 Spicy honey series A sweet-and-spicy combination that grows on you with every bite. 🍄 Truffle series Any pizza with truffle oil is a safe bet—irresistibly aromatic. Also highly recommended: Check out the daily specials. They often hide real gems. 🥗 Small suggestion: Order a salad Buona Forchetta’s salads are definitely not the “let’s just get some greens” type. Their salads are rich in ingredients, layered in texture, and thoughtfully seasoned. Every time I visit, I order one pizza + one salad for a perfectly balanced and satisfying meal. 🥲 Small suggestion 2: Pizza, salads, and appetizers are consistently excellent. But their pasta dishes are just average—not recommended. Come here for the pizza. ✨ Buona Forchetta is the kind of place you’ll want to revisit after just one try. It redefined everything I thought I knew about pizza. It’s also the place I’ll confidently recommend to every friend visiting San Diego: “Try it! Thank me later!” 🍕💕 #Pizza #Food #SanDiego #SanDiegoFood #SanDiegoTravel
