Nestled in the charming old town of Marbella, Spain, La Tienda Casa Curro is a hidden gem with the cozy feel of a chiringuito!

My friends and I made an impromptu plan to get tapas earlier yesterday evening and we went to a place they had visited earlier, it was @mihir_sayilen and I’s first time and we were really impressed.

Right from the chefs table concept of having to speak to the chef as the dishes were coming out to having the most excellent wine pairing for any dish we ordered was simply great!

I don’t like wine as much but after having the wine with the dishes we ordered i’ve officially fallen in love with spanish wine!

Through the meal we got many dishes that were given on the house by the chef namely the tuna tataki tartar which isn’t on the menu but the chef specially curated for us fresh! beautifully made and delicious!

The dishes we ordered were the: Croquetas de jamón Pulpo a la parrilla Steak tartare Boquerones Ensaladilla rusa

All made to perfection and delicious! This place definitely deserves to be on the @michelinguide as it is a hidden gem in the city of Marbella where the staff knows the right dishes and wine pairings!

The service is non-existent. The staff seemed clueless, with one server not even knowing what a pet nat is while pointing to their own wine list. After 20 minutes, they brought out a 2021 bottle, which was clearly past its prime by the end of 2024—pure vinegar.

They messed up our orders multiple times: serving gamba blanca instead of gamba roja, and bringing nigiris with caviar when we specifically ordered them without.

Then came the most frustrating part. We ordered a second bottle of a rare Spanish wine—not outrageously priced, around €80—and ten minutes later, a lady informed us that our two-hour time limit was up. She suggested we take our glasses and the bottle to their tavern with even more uncomfortable chairs. We were completely shocked. Declining the absurd offer, we paid the €400 bill (for three people) and left.

The pricing versus the value and service here is simply unjustifiable. For this kind of money, you’re better off going to a well-established restaurant with excellent service and great food. Avoid this place if you can. Yet another...

And this is not even underestimated. The great Carlos provided us with the best experience two times in a row! He seemed to know exactly what we needed & served us with a lot of Humor & wisdom! ✨ also Raúl impressed us with his great knowledge, the love for details & his expertise and passion for his mission! We are really impressed by the atmosphere and the love you feel within the team itself! Everyone seems to be exactly where they should be & you can see the passion in everybody‘s eyes, which is making this place to a very special place & experience!
