If I were to recommend just one DC date night restaurant… 🌹
Ambiance is key for a date night 💕 But how to balance ambiance with taste? Our date night must also be deliciously satisfying 😋 I tried 1789 during Winter Restaurant Week, and I knew right then it was a place I’d return to for a second visit. 🤍 For the appetizer, I chose the tart, with beef wrapped in chips. The juicy beef encased in crispy chips was a burst of flavors. 🤍 I ordered the Carnival cauliflower and Hudson Valley foie gras The cauliflower was aromatic and had a great crunch. The foie gras was tender and photogenic, shaped like a heart 💗 The juicy foie gras seeped into the bread below, complemented by duck jus. 🤍 For the main course, I chose the duck breast and Alaskan halibut. The duck breast was more refined compared to the one at Blue Duck, with a milder gamey taste. I’d still choose 1789’s version, lol. For fish lovers, the Alaskan halibut is a must-try. The skin was golden and crispy, while the fish was tender and perfectly prepared! 🤍 For dessert, I picked a banana-based option, which was also quite good. #DMVFoodie #DMVFood #USA #HiddenGemRestaurant #DC #WashingtonDC
