Il Tempio di Iside Seafood Dinner Near the Colosseum in Rome 🦞

Another work trip 💼, and a local friend recommended this place! There's nothing quite like enjoying a delicious meal after a long day of work. It's truly a blissful experience! ☺️ Ordered: - Raw local seafood: Flat red mullet 🐟, perfectly prepared with no blood at all, crispy and sweet. The tuna tartare, made from the fish's tenderloin, had just the right amount of fat. Raw squid was also amazing—only Southern Italian restaurants can pull this off! A squeeze of 🍋 lemon makes it even more divine! For shellfish, we had local mussels 🦪, which were very plump but had a stronger flavor compared to French oysters. The texture was incredibly crispy! The standout was the tartufo di mare (sea truffle)—it was incredibly delicious, very crispy, similar to geoduck but with a rich, slightly milky aroma. 😍 If you love raw seafood, you'll absolutely adore this! - Blue lobster pasta. I'm not particularly into carbs, and I can't really tell the difference between regular Persian lobster and blue lobster 😅. But the texture was still very firm and chewy! - The last dish was cernia all’acqua pazza, a large and very fresh grouper! I had the fish head, which was truly amazing! The rich fish flavor combined with the broth made from vegetables was simply delightful. Paired with a glass of Tuscan red wine 🍷, it was pure heaven for the taste buds! We ordered two bottles of Ornellaia, from 2016 and 2018. It might seem a bit unconventional to drink red wine with seafood—usually, white wine or 🥂 sparkling wine is more appropriate. But Italy's 🇮🇹 four great red wines still make a fantastic pairing with seafood, adding a unique touch! 😋 In summary: The seafood in Rome is top-notch! And taking a stroll to see the ancient Colosseum in the evening is definitely worth it. Highly recommended! #RestaurantRecommendation #DiningAtmosphere #HiddenGemRestaurant #LuxuryOnTheTongue #AmbianceDining
