Is Grape Picking in Temecula, Southern California Worth It? 🍇🥵
If you ask whether we’ll go back to KHM PRODUCE in Temecula for grape picking next August… we might have to think twice 🤔. Maybe we’ll choose a cooler weekend next time! This summer was scorching, and only Kyoho grapes were available for picking—but the owner was super friendly and even offered tastings of different varieties! 🍇 We arrived at 10 AM on a weekend, but the temperature was already nearing 100°F ☀️. Only the entrance area had shade covers. Parents with little ones can push strollers along the field paths. When we visited, about half of the Kyoho grapes were ripe! Varieties ranked by sweetness: • Shine Muscat ($13/lb) • Kyoho ($7/lb) • Moon Drop ($6/lb) • Campbell ($4/lb) They also had melons and raisins for sale. This year, Shine Muscat wasn’t available for self-picking, but you could buy pre-picked ones from the owner. Parking and entry were free—you only pay for the grapes you pick! 💰 If you have extra time, check out nearby wineries like Bolero at Europa Village—great ambiance and less crowded. Perfect for wine tasting among the vines! 🍷 Have you been grape picking in Temecula? What’s your favorite variety?
