It Sits in a Hidden Corner of Seattle 🏛️
📍 𝕊𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕥𝕝𝕖 𝔸𝕤𝕚𝕒𝕟 𝔸𝕣𝕥 𝕄𝕦𝕤𝕖𝕦𝕞 ✨A serendipitous discovery, the Seattle Asian Art Museum, not found in any travel guides. Although the official website states $14.99 per person, the staff at the ticket counter mentioned you can pay as you wish. ✨Driving up several steep hills, passing by some beautiful little houses, the museum is located in Volunteer Park on the hill. Outside, there's a large grassy field, and nearby, the Lake View Cemetery houses Bruce Lee's grave. The selection and display of items in the museum are very thoughtful. There's a small dark room playing Buddhist music, with a large Buddha statue in the center, flanked by smaller Thai and Chinese Buddha statues, lit from below, creating a dual shadow effect. ✨Another exhibition hall features the works of a Cambodian artist, a Muslim who fled to the US from Cambodia. She created a series of works themed "Buddha Bug," but I won't spoil too much. ✨In the center of the museum sits a ceramic statue, a work by artist Takahiro Kondo, which captivated me. I really wanted to know the glaze formula, it was like a veil of mist. ✨The museum isn't large, but with a calm mind, you can spend over an hour there. It's not crowded, allowing for a peaceful appreciation of each exhibit. It's an undiscovered treasure of Seattle. #MyDailyLife #Museum #MuseumsWorthVisiting #Seattle #USA #DailyLifeInSeattle #Art #Asia #BuddhaStatues #ExhibitionVisits
