Italy | Teatro dell'Opera di Roma and Verdi’s Opera "Otello" 🎶

In June, I went to Italy on a business trip. On the way back to the hotel from the conference, I happened to pass by the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. A sudden thought struck me—why not try my luck and see if there were any tickets available? On previous trips to Rome or Milan, it was always either too rushed, or there were no performances or tickets available. All I had were photos taken outside the Rome Opera House and La Scala in Milan. But this time, luck was on my side—there were tickets available for the next day’s performance, and it was Verdi’s opera Otello! 🎭✨ The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, built in 1880, may not be one of the oldest opera houses in Italy, but it is renowned for its stunning architecture and excellent acoustics. The floors are a beautiful mosaic of red and white marble, and inside the performance hall, the parquet flooring and the red velvet chairs create a feeling of elegance and romance. Each year, it hosts world-class operas and concerts, attracting music lovers from all over the globe. 🎻🎶 Otello is one of Giuseppe Verdi’s masterpieces. Verdi, who composed dozens of operas in his lifetime, is celebrated as the greatest Italian opera composer. Otello, based on Shakespeare's tragedy of the same name, premiered in 1887 at La Scala in Milan and is considered one of Verdi’s crowning achievements. 🎼🎤 The performance was exceptional, with all the singers delivering outstanding vocal performances. Special mention must go to the soprano Vittoria Yeo from South Korea, who played the female lead. Her voice was crystal clear and pure, with both power and flexibility, rivaling Europe’s top sopranos. In recent years, South Korean opera artists have been making waves in the international opera scene, with many performing in prestigious European opera houses and companies. This success is largely due to the country's robust cultural exchange programs and its focus on cultivating artistic talent from a young age. 🇮🇹🎶🎤 📸 Photo taken in June 2024, Rome, Italy #Music #Art #ItalianOpera #EverydayWithMusic #VerdiOpera #Otello #RomanHoliday
