Juneau, Alaska: A Rainy & Rewarding Day Trip 🌧️🏔️
On day four, we docked in Juneau—the capital of Alaska! I’d done some research and found out you can actually take a public bus to Mendenhall Glacier 🚌💨. With plenty of time to spare, we decided to go for it! A quick check on Google Maps showed it was just a 5-6 minute walk from the cruise pier to the downtown bus stop. Buses #3, #4, and #8 all go toward the glacier 🚏⏳. They run about every 15 minutes, and the fare is just $2 cash—exact change only (no card, no change given!). The weather forecast said “cloudy” ☁️… but of course, it started raining not long after we got going! Good thing we were prepared: waterproof jacket (with hood!), rain pants, waterproof hiking shoes, and a rainproof backpack 🧥🎒👖🥾. So here’s my advice—say it with me: Waterproof gear is a MUST! Waterproof gear is a MUST! Waterproof gear is a MUST! 💦😉 But then, by late afternoon, the sky cleared up beautifully 🌤️✨, and we got to experience that famous “Alaska Blue”—so clear and pure, it almost didn’t look real 💙🏞️. What a day! #Travel #Alaska #Cruise #Juneau #BudgetTravel #GlacierAdventure
