Just $50 Per Person for Charcoal-Grilled Seafood in Rowland Heights

Finally visited this long-bookmarked Korean grilled seafood spot — The Pirate, with pirate-themed décor. Ordered a 2–3 person Gold Combo, served on a pirate ship platter — visually striking!! Three of us got the combo + marinated raw crab — the combo alone had so much we couldn’t finish 😆 I used to avoid seafood in Korea because it’s often served plain with just soy-based dipping sauce (초장), which felt one-dimensional. But here — three dipping sauces, subtly adjusted to suit broader tastes! Biggest surprise: the marinated raw crab — in Korea it’s usually too salty, but here it’s perfectly balanced,👌💕 still sweet and fresh, no fishy smell on hands afterward. Recommended: mix rice in the crab shell or squeeze the roe over rice — Koreans call it "밥도둑" (rice thief) because it’s so addictive! Nice details too — live tanks behind the bar, seafood grilled fresh. Some shellfish were still moving slightly on the grill — real deal! Next time trying their BBQ — charcoal-grilled meat must be amazing. 📍 The Pirate Seafood BBQ (해적 조개구이) #LAFood #LAExploration #LAEats #FoodieChallenge #LAKoreanFood #RowlandHeightsFood
