Kaliningrad Free & Easy | Svetlogorsk – The “Slow Town” 🍁🐌

In 2019, Svetlogorsk was recognized by Spain as the slowest town in the world 🐌 and even received a snail sculpture in honor of this title! We took the train from Yuzhny Station to this charming maple-leaf town once again. 1️⃣ Got off at Светлогорск-2 and took the cute yellow cable car 🚡 “Канатная дорога” down to the seaside. Ticket: 50 RUB one way. 2️⃣ Walked along the beach, took photos 🌊📸, and met a lovely family from Moscow – a mom with her 10- and 14-year-old sons who were vacationing here. They spoke Chinese amazingly well! When asked why they learned Chinese, the mom said: “It makes children wiser!” 👩🏻🧠 I gave them a big thumbs up 👍❤️ 3️⃣ After saying goodbye, we climbed the stairs back up near the station and continued to the Water Tower (Водонапорная башня) 💧🏛️. 4️⃣ Next, we found the iconic Snail Sculpture “Cittaslow” 🐌 – a symbol of the town’s slow-living philosophy. 5️⃣ Further down the street, many stalls and shops sold souvenirs: amber products, fridge magnets, decorations, and more 🛍️. My friends bought the most here! 6️⃣ Amber Shop “Салон Янтаря” 💎✨ Decorated like a fairytale! The owner was super kind and gave us a huge discount – my friend bought two pairs of earrings and a pendant originally priced at 4,800 RUB, but he rounded it down to 4,000 RUB! The best discount we’ve found so far 🎉. 7️⃣ Medieval Königsberg Miniature Ceramic Model 🏰⚱️ A detailed ceramic replica of old Königsberg – delicate and historical. 8️⃣ We wanted to eat at the famous restaurant Local 🏠 (the colorful building!), but it was too busy. Instead, we had dinner at Хартман – and it was delicious! 🍽️ 9️⃣ Frog Princess Sculpture «царевна-лягушка» 🐸👸 Located near the train station – a cute and fairy-tale-like spot. 🔟 Hopped back on the train to return 🚆💨 We didn’t get to see all the attractions – you can follow the recommended spots on the brochures! But the best part was definitely shopping – my friends went all out here!
