Kathmandu's Stunning One-Day Tour

✨Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath): 200 NPR The temple is a bit dirty but relatively peaceful. The views from the top are excellent, making the 200 NPR entry fee worth it. The area is quite large but lacks a guided tour, which can be confusing (1-1.5 hours, without climbing stairs). 🩵Manjushree Stupa: 400 NPR There's nothing particularly special about it, aside from being the largest hemispherical stupa in the world and its distinctive eyes. Pigeons fly among the colorful prayer flags, and after circling it three times, I felt a sense of lightheadedness as I let go of greed, hatred, and ignorance (1 hour is sufficient, but there are many nearby restaurants, making it a good stop before or after lunch). 🌈Patan Royal Palace: 1000 NPR You can rent a guide on-site, which greatly enhances the experience. I began to understand the distinctions between animalism, Hinduism, and Buddhism. The main royal palace is a small building but holds many secrets, along with a museum showcasing Newar architecture. If you take your time to explore, you could easily spend 3 hours here. 🛕Pashupatinath Temple (Cremation Ghat): 1000 NPR This is the only purely Hindu temple site, and non-Hindus are not allowed inside the main temple. This place genuinely startled me, so I advise those who are not too curious or are easily frightened to skip it. The cremation rituals are already quite intense, and I happened to visit during the annual festival where animals are sacrificed. #Nepal#Pashupatinath Temple#Kathmandu#Patan Royal Palace#Manjushree Stupa#solo travel#Swayambhunath#trip diary#travel guide
