Katz’s Delicatessen & Kith Treats Launch Pastrami & Latke Ice Cream Flavors, Available For A Limited Time

Nothing is too crazy for New York City, and this new collab between Katz’s Delicatessen and Kith Treats proves it. The two brands are teaming up to celebrate Kith’s 10th anniversary, but they’re going beyond blowing out candles–instead they’re debuting two limited-edition ice cream specials inspired by Katz’s iconic deli staples. Spoiler alert: they make even the most loyal New Yorker second guess how crazy pineapple on pizza really is. Katz’s Delicatessen is no stranger to creating something literally nobody asked for but ended up falling in love with. Last year they teamed up with Veselka on Pastrami Pierogis, or Pastrogis, and shortly after they released a vegetarian pastrami sandwich for one day only. But being named one of the most legendary restaurants in the world, Katz’s has a reputation to live up to, and it certainly knows a thing or two about pushing the envelope on some pretty quirky collabs. That’s to say their collaboration with Kith Treats shouldn’t really come as a surprise–but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to raise some eyebrows. The collaboration features two wild ice cream specials: * 🥓 THE DELUXE: Vanilla ice cream infused with pastrami-seasoned rye bread croutons, ground mustard seeds, Katz’s full brine pickles, and french toast crunch – topped with pastrami seasoning and garnished with a Katz’s half brine pickle * 🥔 THE LATKE: Vanilla ice cream infused with sour cream & onion chips, apple sauce, and corn flakes – topped with apple jam and Maldon salt and garnished with Katz’s mini latkes Katz’s Delicatessen has been serving traditional Jewish deli fare–and iconic pastrami and corned beef sandwiches–in the Lower East Side since 1888. Kith Treats is a cereal-themed bar and cafe concept by the lifestyle brand Kith, offering custom cereal-based treats. The collaboration is part of Kith Treat’s Heritage Program, which showcases legacy brands that Kith admires. Both specials will be available exclusively at New York Kith Treats locations (Williamsburg, Dumbo, and SoHo) Friday, September 12th through Sunday, September 21st.
