🌿 Kiyomizu-dera, A Must-Visit Spot in Kyoto 🌸

#KiyomizuDera is a popular historical site in Kyoto, Japan, and was added to the World Heritage List in 1994. It is a hot spot that is always bustling with visitors. Usually, I try to avoid popular spots, but after seeing the photos online, it surprisingly strengthened my resolve to visit Kiyomizu-dera myself. Transportation: 🚌 From Kyoto Station: Take the city bus 206 from the north side D2 at Kyoto Station, get off at Gojozaka, and walk for 10 minutes (you need to climb a small hill). 🚌 From Shijo: Take city bus 207, get off at Kiyomizu-Michi, and walk for 10 minutes (you need to climb a small hill). Admission 🎫: JPY300 Opening Hours: 6:00-18:30 📷 Kiyomizu Stage. Fun fact, there is a Japanese proverb "Leap from the stage of Kiyomizu," which is said to have originated in the Edo period. There was a belief that if you jumped off the Kiyomizu stage, your innermost wishes would come true. It's used to describe making a resolute decision to do something with no turning back. 📷 Okunoin, right above the Otowa Waterfall and on the side of the Main Hall, was rebuilt at the same time as the Main Hall in 1633. Most of the beautiful photos of the Kiyomizu Stage are taken from here. 📷 Nio Gate, The main entrance of Kiyomizu-dera. It was burned down in 1469, rebuilt around 1500, and renovated in 2003. I took a photo of the back... 📷rebuilt in 1663. If you come in the evening, you should be able to see an amazing sunset. 📷 Three-storied Pagoda, said to be one of the top three three-story pagodas in Japan. It has always been a symbol of Kiyomizu-dera.
