Kochi Maru Reopened — Tried Their Crab Pot! 🦀✨

A while ago, I was craving sweet and sour pork, only to find this gem of a Northeastern Chinese BBQ spot temporarily closed 😢. Today, I discovered they’ve reopened — so I rushed right over! The sweet and sour pork and grilled skewers were just as good as I remembered — we polished them off in minutes 😋🔥. This time, they’ve also added spicy malatang and a signature crab pot to the menu. We ordered the crab pot based on rave reviews, and it did not disappoint! Both crab shells were packed with roe, and the crab itself tasted fresh and sweet. The duck feet and chicken claws simmered in the broth were fall-off-the-bone tender 🍖💫. We also tried the cold dressed chicken skeleton — the sauce was absolutely incredible! A perfect balance of sweet and spicy, it kept us going back for more 🍗🌶️. It’s funny — as Chinese people, we really make the most of every part of the chicken: feet, neck, even the bones. It feels like a creative, delicious legacy from times when meat was scarce, turning simple ingredients into beloved dishes 👩‍🍳❤️. After dinner, we swung by the newly opened Molly Tea nearby, hearing they had a buy-one-get-one deal.
