Kumiko - Chicago
This time I visited the underground whiskey bar, and the ambiance is really nice! 🥃✨ The menu is different from upstairs—their overall style is sweet cocktail-focused, and even the stronger drinks aren't too overwhelming. My personal benchmark is actually Milk Room, but you get what you pay for, and Kumiko is already excellent! 💫❤️ 1️⃣ Agony of the Leaf - I ordered this for the oolong tea flavor, but the tea aroma was quite light. Surprisingly, it had a sweet preserved plum taste. The sweet potato shochu they use is really interesting—it has some unique flavors. For example, the bartender showed us one with a lychee note! 🍠🌿 2️⃣ Ringo Sho-Hi - Also very sweet, and it had nothing to do with apples. 🍎🤔 Still, it was a fun and enjoyable drink! 3️⃣ "Gyokuro" Shochu - Green tea shochu on the rocks. Maybe adding hot water would bring out more of the tea aroma? The tea flavor here wasn’t fragrant but slightly bitter—really tasty!
