Located in the Arashiyama area of Kyoto, the origin of this shrine is quite interesting. πΏπ In 1961, it was established by Kyoto's hairdressing professionals. They enshrined a deity named Fujiwara no Sakanoue no Tsunetada, who is considered the progenitor of Japan's "kami-shi" (the precursor to modern hairdressers), now revered as the Great Hair God.
