Read the messages written on the “ema” (絵馬; wooden plates with wishes written on) - they are very interesting (“I wish my hair will not get bolder”, “ I wish I still have any hair left”, etc).

Besides people who care about their hair (or hair loss), it is also popular for people in hair business like hair salons etc.
