Kyoto Monet Water Lilies Exhibition (1) 🌿
📍 Kyoto Kyocera Museum of Art Here are my personal thoughts and some spoilers about the content. 🌸🍃 In the Monet exhibition, the paintings on display show how his style evolved over time, from delicate brushstrokes to a more wild and uninhibited approach. 🌇Often, he would quickly sketch the trunks of plants, with splashes of red and yellow piled together to depict flowers in full bloom under the sun. The white spaces around the branches and flowers perfectly capture the scene of blossoms swaying in the breeze, sunlight, and water. 🌸🍃 The fourth gallery, featuring the "Japanese Bridge" series, is a must-see. 🌇 I recommend sitting on a stool and taking your time to examine each painting from a distance. You'll notice how Monet's brushwork is incredibly detailed, but as his eyesight deteriorated due to cataracts, his style became more and more wild. 🌸🍃 #Kyoto 🌇🌟
