Read moreI went to the Takashi Murakami exhibition today which was interesting and had no problems with.
After leaving the exhibition through the one-way automatic doors, it became apparent that there was a gift shop attached directly outside. There was a massive crowd in the main gift shop space so I went through a door that continued to another section, and ultimately lead to the exit of gift shop.
Having realised that I had reached the end of gift shop, I turned back to try to see the area that was crowded with people just prior.
At this moment, I was refused re-entry to gift shop. No reason, just "No coming back" told me by a young female staff member. This is the first time in my life that I have been refused re-entry to a GIFT SHOP. It's as if they are refusing my money for no reason, it truly beggars belief. They only refused me because Rules Are Rules.
If you want to go to an establishment that uses common sense when enforcing rules, DO NOT COME...
Read moreWent to Andy Warhol’s exhibition TWICE! once with my boyfriend and another time with my mum who did not know Andy Warhol. She had a blast. We went in beginning december and it was much less crowded than October. Merchandise is much less fewer but still alot of collection.
Highly recommend, it is for all ages. There is a section where it mimicks Andy Warhol’s party with silver balloon floating in the air and also a section where he came to Kyoto and you could see how ikebana and japan really inspired some of his work. Truly a beautiful curated museum where it helos you realise you do not have to out yourself in a box to be known, you just have to create like he did. He had many mediums which was shown in the museum (silk screen, sketches, photography, film, poetry etc)
also love kyocera’s museum store! they have one solely for Warhol and near the exit which closes 30mins later than the exhibitions. I always get something there like a book, bag magnet and some kyoto’s...
