LA｜Arcadia Hidden Gem Izakaya — Cozy Ramen & Yakitori Spot 🏮

Been craving yakitori for a while. Last time I went to a famous spot in Little Tokyo, waited over an hour… only to get skewers that were either burnt or bland. Left super disappointed 😞 This place is tucked in the back of a plaza — easy to miss. Inside, it’s different from typical izakayas — bright, clean, and spacious. Didn’t have high expectations at first, but as soon as the beer arrived, I knew it was solid — the beer glasses were chilled! 🍺❄️ Feels like the owner either watches The Way of Evening Drinks or just really knows their stuff when it comes to food. 🗻 Fujiya Chashu Ramen The chashu is arranged almost like Mount Fuji — thoughtful presentation! Broth is rich but not overly salty. Each slice of chashu is thick and generous — so good. 🌋 Volcano Ramen As a spice lover, I never miss a chance for heat. Personally didn’t find it too spicy — more aromatic and appetizing. (But if you try it and think it’s spicy… well, you’ve been warned 😄) You can also choose your noodle firmness — another sign they know what they’re doing. 🍢 Grilled Mix Skewers Got the skewer platter — perfect for the indecisive! Charcoal aroma is noticeable — mostly glazed-style (you can ask for salt-grilled if preferred). The pork belly was especially fragrant, no gaminess at all. Chicken wings were great too — crispy skin, juicy meat. Chicken skewers, squid, peppers, sausage — all delicious. Chicken heart was good, maybe a tad dry for me. 🦑 Fried Calamari Most places do calamari rings — here it’s all tentacles (yes!!). Crispy, flavorful, no weird oily taste (means the oil is fresh!). 🦀 Fried Soft Shell Crab Two decent-sized soft-shell crabs — crispy and satisfying in every bite. Soft-shell crabs are truly a gift — no shell-spitting required 😂 🫛 Edamame — a must-order drinking snack, as always. 🅿️ Plenty of parking out front — very convenient.
